Olo was founded in the summer of 2010 and quickly became well-known as a fun neighborhood hang out where local students, friends, and families nearby could enjoy a self-serve frozen yogurt experience. Olo prides itself on all signature recipes, a huge array of fresh toppings, made from scratch baked goods & fun drink options to satisfy anyone’s taste buds. Today Olo is a Route 66 favorite, where travelers and passersby make a point to visit the iconic dessert shop.
In 2019, Olo transformed into Olo Dessert Studio, a beautiful boutique with a distinct, made from scratch menu including baked goods such as cupcakes, cookies & breakfast scones. Olo still offers the same fresh & frozen yogurt options along with soft serve ice creams, sorbets & gelato. Olo’s model has stayed true over all these years…fun, fresh & healthy dessert alternatives in a fabulous atmosphere where everyone is a cherished guest.
Family Owned & Operated
Olo was founded in the summer of 2010 by Paula Pope, a native New Mexican from Mora, New Mexico. Paula’s love of healthy and fun foods, plus her background in public health sparked her inspiration for starting Olo. And boy, are we sure glad it did!
Olo is currently owned and operated by the Dominguez Family of Albuquerque, New Mexico. On any given day you will find Camilla Dominguez & her family, along with the legacy Olo staff baking, cleaning, greeting customers & refreshing the toppings bar.
Camilla has worked in food & beverage and hospitality for over 25 years, and is also the proud owner of a long standing event management company, Corazon Events. Camilla’s love for the community & passion for healthy food alternatives motivated her and her husband, Zac Lively, to purchase Olo from the Popes in the summer of 2019.
Our frozen yogurt has undergone the process of fermentation, which guarantees a high level of live and active culture count. Our product is fresh before it is frozen & never comes from a powder.
Our soft ice creams, gelato & sorbet products are also guaranteed lowfat or nonfat. All of our sorbets are dairy free.
Our signature baked treats were developed with lots of Olo love by chef Andrea Schulte, chef Verlynda Toledo & our current chef, Kelly Nelson. All of our baked items are free from preservatives, contain less sugar than a standard recipe of a similar item and are made from scratch in our kitchen daily.
